RECENT studies in gastroenterology have been directed toward obtaining evidence of the correlation between the various parts of the nervous system and the digestive tract, or of a similar influence of the endocrine system on the processes of digestion. Although this clinical observation is not new, the authors are wise in calling attention to the importance of the underlying mechanism and to the necessity for special care in the treatment of patients with ulcer during such infections.
