“…The technological advances and widespread use of CT have enabled radiologists to play an essential role in diagnosing acute ileal diverticulitis [ 3 , 16 , 18 ]. The characteristic CT findings of acute ileal diverticulitis in this study included ileal wall thickening with small-sized inflamed diverticulum at the mesenteric side and surrounding mesenteric fat infiltration, which was consistent with CT findings in previous studies [ 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 , 10 , 11 , 13 , 16 , 18 , 24 , 30 ]. Especially, direct visualization of the inflamed diverticulum was the key feature in diagnosing acute ileal diverticulitis.…”
