Tensor-optimized shell model for the Li isotopes with a bare nucleon-nucleon interaction

Abstract: We study the Li isotopes systematically in terms of the tensor-optimized shell model (TOSM) by using a bare nucleon-nucleon interaction as the AV8 ′ interaction. The short-range correlation is treated in the unitary correlation operator method (UCOM). Using the TOSM+UCOM approach, we investigate the role of the tensor force on each spectrum of the Li isotopes. It is found that the tensor force produces quite a characteristic effect on various states in each spectrum and those spectra are affected considerably … Show more

“…For the study of the halo nucleus, the importance of the core excitation effect has been recently reported in the 8 B elastic scattering on the 12 C target [3]. In addition, Moro and his collaborators have shown such important role of the core excitation effect of the 11 Be nucleus in the inelastic and breakup cross sections [4][5][6].…”

“…The excitation energies of the 3/2 + and 5/2 + dipole resonances are predicted to have a strong dependence on the s 2 component in the wavefunction of 11 Li. On the other hand in the the tensor-optimized shell model (TOSM) [28,29]. the tensor correlation in 9 Li is variationally treated by including the high momentum component of 2p2h states in the configuration mixings.…”
