Tensor effects in6Li+12C scattering

Abstract: A complete set of analyzing powers (iT», Tzo, Tz, , and Tzz) are reported for the elastic scattering of 50 MeV Li by ' C. They are as large as or larger than those measured earlier for 30 MeV Li. A combined optical model analysis of both energies shows Tz& to arise from the tensor interaction, Tzo to involve a combination of tensor and J-dependent interactions, and iT» to be the most complicated, arising from an explicit spin-orbit, as well as tensor and J-dependent interactions. A coordinate transformation of… Show more

“…The experimental CS, iT 11 , T 20 , T 21 and T 22 data for the 6 Li + 12 C elastic scattering are taken from [22,23,31]. The CS data are normalized to the Rutherford cross-sections, and a systematic error of 15% is assumed for the CS points without any experimental error-bar.…”

“…The study examines for the first time the NM potential, embodying a repulsive core, on the tensor analyzing powers in the framework of simple OM potential. The T R tensor potential, originally proposed Satchler [24] and tried on the 6 Li + 12 C scattering by Reber et al [22,37] and Kerr et al [23,38], in conjunction with the NM central real, effective SO and imaginary parts of the interaction potential U(R) in equation ( 9), are able to reproduce features in the angular distributions of CS and analyzing power data. In particular, iT 11 , T 21 , T 22 data are well accounted for in OM using normal J-independent imaginary potential.…”

“…The previous sections of this research paper were concerned with light-light nuclei whereas this section is connected to light-intermediate nuclei. 6 Li elastically scattered by 12 C has been reanalyzed at energies (36, 50.6, 90, 99, 123.5, 156, 168.6, 210, 318 and 600) [64][65][66][67][68][69][70][71][72][73][74] by two different potentials namely CM+DWBA and CM+DWBA+DPP. The position of 6 Li in the middle between light and heavy nuclei gives it the interest to study.…”
