Tensile and Compressive Mechanical Properties of Polycrystalline Tungsten–Molybdenum Alloy

Abstract: To clarify the mechanical performance of word line metal film, molecular dynamics simulations to explore the tensile and compressive responses of W–Mo alloys are utilized. The results reveal that all the mechanical parameters, including Young's modulus, yield strength, flow stress, and platform stress, decrease linearly by about 13–20% with the increase in Mo concentration. The development of the amorphous region and grain boundaries (GBs) dominates the deformation process of W–Mo alloys under tensile and comp… Show more

“…Temperature is another important environmental factor for cold welding. [17,18,21,46,51] In this section, the effect of temperature on the cold welding process and mechanical properties is investigated. Cold welding simulations are carried out at 300, 500, 700, and 900 K, covering a wide range of temperatures.…”

“…The initial size of the simulation box is 20 nm × 20 nm × 20 nm, the total number of atoms in the ASSN model is 661 842, the number of grains is 20, and the average grain size is about 9.1 nm. The relationship between the average grain size d and the number of grains N can be calculated by N=6V(πd3), [ 12 ] and V is the volume of the model. Dig out a grain inside the ASSN to form an ASSN model with void (abbreviated as ASSN‐Void).…”
