This collection of short essays utilizes a narrative approach to present the RISE framework, with four pillars centered on promoting student Resilience, Identity, Strength in Scholarship and Empowerment. Each short essay aims to draw attention to the spectrum of challenges that students currently face during their higher education journeys in Canada and what innovative solutions have been or could be implemented to address these adversities in accordance with RISE. The application of the framework to evaluate and reorient learning environments in Canadian higher education holds immense potential to help all students grow as collaborative thinkers, partners, and leaders that will leave academic settings well prepared for their life as leaders in their community. Dans cet article qui rassemble de courts essais, nous utilisons une approche narrative pour présenter le cadre RISE en l’appuyant sur quatre piliers permettant de promouvoir la Résilience, l’Identité, la Solidité universitaire et l’Émancipation. Chacun des courts essais vise à mettre en relief, d’une part, l’éventail des défis auxquels les étudiants font face actuellement dans l’enseignement supérieur au Canada et, d’autre part, les solutions novatrices qui ont été mises en œuvre – ou qui pourraient l’être – pour s’attaquer à ces difficultés dans le contexte de RISE. L’application de ce cadre dans l’examen et la reconfiguration des environnements d’apprentissage de l’enseignement supérieur au Canada est pleine de promesses. Voilà qui pourrait aider tous les étudiants à devenir des penseurs collaboratifs, des partenaires et des leaders qui, lorsqu’ils quitteront l’université, seront prêts à agir comme des chefs de file de leur communauté.

Objetivo: avaliar a correlação entre ansiedade e depressão com a presença de Disfunção Temporomandibular. Material e Métodos: participaram do estudo sessenta pacientes atendidos no Serviço ATM da Faculdade de Odontologia da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora, localizado na cidade de Juiz de Fora/Minas Gerais. Desses sessenta, trinta possuíam diagnósticos de disfunção temporomandibular, a partir do Research Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorder, e trinta não apresentavam o diagnóstico de disfunção. Todos os participantes responderam os questionários Escala Hospitalar de ansiedade e depressão e o Inventário de ansiedade de Beck. Os dados obtidos foram analisados por meio do programa Statistical Package for the Social Science 14.0 com o teste de Qui-quadrado e nível de significância de 5% (p<0,05). Resultados: houve correlação significativa entre os parâmetros gênero (p=0,024), idade média (p=0,033), presença de disfunção temporomandibular (p=0,034) e a variável ansiedade. Já para a variável depressão, houve correlação significativa para o diagnóstico de disfunção temporomandibular (p=0,029), e correlação não significativa para gênero (p=0,608) e idade média (p=0,175). Conclusão: há relação entre fatores psicológicos e psicossociais, como a ansiedade e a depressão e disfunção temporomandibular

Đặt vấn đề: Tỷ lệ rối loạn khớp thái dương hàm trong chiếm 40 – 60% dân số thế giới. Mặt khác rối loạn khớp thái dương hàm ảnh hưởng đến 15 đến 20% bệnh nhân trưởng thành. Rối loạn khớp thái dương hàm gặp ở mọi giới tính, trong đó nữ giới thường gặp hơn nam giới. Rối loạn khớp thái dương hàm còn gây nhiều khó khăn trong sinh hoạt, ảnh hưởng thẩm mỹ, khả năng phát âm. Mục tiêu nghiên cứu: Xác định tỉ lệ rối loạn khớp thái dương hàm ở sinh viên và đánh giá yếu tố tâm lý và thói quen liên quan. Đối tượng và phương pháp nghiên cứu: Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang trên 118 sinh viên năm nhất khoa Răng Hàm Mặt trường Đại học Y Dược Cần Thơ. Tình trạng khớp thái dương hàm, khớp cắn được xác định bằng khám lâm sàng. Các yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến rối loạn khớp thái dương hàm được xác định qua phỏng vấn bằng phiếu điều tra. Thực hiện thống kê mô tả Frequencies, kiểm định ChiSquare và kiểm định Fisher’s Exact trên SPSS 20. Kết quả nghiên cứu: Tỷ lệ rối loạn khớp thái dương hàm là 92,4%. Đưa hàm sang phải hạn chế và giới tính có ý nghĩa thống kê (p= 0,032). Há lệch > 2mm có liên quan với trầm cảm, rối loạn lo âu. Há lệch >2mm và đau cơ khi sờ có liên quan với thói quen cắn bút (p= 0,019), (p=0,026). Tiếng kêu khớp có liên quan với tương quan răng 6 (p= 0,008). Kết luận: Nghiên cứu cho thấy tỷ lệ rối loạn thái dương hàm ở sinh viên Răng Hàm Mặt chiếm tỷ lệ cao. Chưa có mối liên quan giữa rối loạn khớp thái dương hàm và yếu tố tâm lý - thói quen.
