“…After washing, the filter solution was concentrated onto 0.2‐μm pore size PES filter membrane (Pall Corporation, USA) using vacuum pump. DNA was then extracted following the protocol described by Crump et al (2003) and our pervious study (Siriarchawatana et al, 2023). Final DNA solution was measured the concentration by Qubit 2.0 (Invitrogen, USA) using the High Sensitivity double stranded DNA (HS dsDNA) kit.…”

“…There are currently 54 stations along the MRT route (Bangkok Expressway and Metro, 2018), and the MRT Sukhumvit (MRT-SKV) station was the busiest station in Bangkok with an annual ridership of around 35 million (Bangkok Metro Network, 2023) due to it being in the heart of Bangkok's business and shopping district and being an interconnecting point to the sky train system. Even though there is a recent interest in the bacteria communities and their functions in the Bangkok MRT environment (Siriarchawatana et al, 2023), the fungal communities in the Bangkok MRT environment have not been extensively examined and the information on airborne fungi was sorely lacking. Thus, the exploration of fungal compositions and their dynamics over time will immensely aid in monitoring and management of the airborne fungi in the subway station, which potentially impact the health of millions of passengers.…”
