Saigusa et al (2008) used data from flux towers and found that temperate deciduous forests showed the greatest positive net ecosystem production after leaf expansion (higher LAI) in early summer. Duursma et al (2009) used measurements from coniferous stands in Europe and found that LAI was a significant influence on gross primary production (GPP).…”
