Temperature Rise Characteristics and Error Analysis of a DC Voltage Divider

Abstract: Measurement accuracy is an important performance indicator for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) voltage dividers. The temperature rise effect for a HVDC voltage divider’s internal resistance has an adverse effect on measurement accuracy. In this paper, by building a solid model of a DC voltage divider, the internal temperature rise characteristic and error caused by the temperature rise in a resistance voltage divider were theoretically simulated. We found that with the increase in height and working time, t… Show more

“…Comparison of the obtained results with the data of publications [2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] shows that the influence of non-identity of capacitive elements of high-voltage arm of voltage dividers on their characteristics is significant along with other influencing factors and, therefore, should be taken into account in theory and practice of voltage dividers.…”

“…Thus, in [2] it is reported to confirm the change in the division factor of the reference DC voltage divider in the range of 100-1000 kV in the amount of 2.5•10 -6 (2.5 ppm). In [3] it is stated about the change of up to 158.4 ppm of the division factor of the voltage divider «500 kV/2 mA» DC in an environment with temperature of 35 С depending on the duration of operation of the divider in the range of 30-200 minutes.…”

“…From the picture above, it is known that to make a voltage sensor two resistors are needed [20]. in this study the voltage sensor used to read the output voltage on the solar panel is planned to be able to read the input voltage up to 51,89volt, because this study uses solar panels that can output an input voltage of 36volt.…”
