“…Our results are in agreement with previous studies that focused on the effect of light radiation on some bacterial species, such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Campylobacter, and Pseudomonas, but with a difference in the survival capacities (Giannakis et al, 2015;Jozi c et al, 2014;Lipovsky et al, 2010;Orruño et al, 2017). Generally, the bacterial response to light exposure depends on several factors, such as the type and intensity of lighting (Davies & Evison, 1991;Jozi c & Šoli c, 2017;Wang et al, 2018), the resistance ability of each group of bacteria (Jozi c et al, 2014;Maraccini et al, 2016), and the oxygen concentration in the irradiation medium (Baez & Shiloach, 2014;Oppezzo et al, 2011). In our experience, oxygen saturation in each microcosm was around 80%.…”
