Abstract:A passive temperature-compensating package of Long Period Fiber Grating (LPFG) was designed based on its negative strain coefficient. LPFG was pasted on the substrate material, such as copper and Plexiglas, under tension. The strain induced by the thermal expansion of substrate material was used for temperature compensating .The experimental results showed that the mounted grating on copper exhibited lower temperature sensitivity (about 78pm/°C), compared with uncompensated grating(about 118pm/°C). But the tra… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
