Telmisartan

Abstract: Telmisartan is an effective antihypertensive agent with a tolerability profile similar to that of placebo. Comparative data have shown telmisartan to be as effective as other major classes of antihypertensive agents at lowering blood pressure. Compared with lisinopril, telmisartan is associated with a significantly lower incidence of dry, persistent cough. Therefore, telmisartan is a useful therapeutic option in the management of patients with hypertension.

“…Its importance is reflected in the immense economic value of pharmaceuticals including Valsartan [70,71] and Telmisartan [72,73], and agrochemicals such as Boscalid [74]. As alternatives to the homogeneous Pd-phosphine catalysts, Pd on carbon [75,76], on silica or polymer supports [77][78][79], and on mesoporous materials can be used [80,81].…”

“…Telmisartan (TMS), an antihypertensive drug, belongs to angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) which act by inhibiting receptor stimulation of angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) without affecting other related receptors in cardiovascular 1 . TMS is classified as class II, low solubility high permeability, based on Biopharmaceutical Classification System (BCS).…”
