“…At equal 20 mol% MoO 3 , the T g and T x values were found to be in the range from 322 to 339 °C and 419 to 440 °C as a function of ZnO content increased from 10 to 30 mol%, respectively. The increase of T g with an increase of ZnO content can be related to the role of ZnO in the structure of the tellurite glass, which is believed to enter the network behaving like a network modifier (<15 mol%) and network former (>15 mol%) as reported elsewhere . From Raman analysis, it was reported that the basic structural units of TeO 2 were TeO 4 trigonal bipyramid (tbp), TeO 3+1 polyhedra, and TeO 3 trigonal pyramid (tp) .…”

“…It is also known to have a range of attracting features in various optical communication devices so as to meet the purpose of optical amplification [6]. Employing low phonon energy matrices like tellurite glass, it is possible to provide a suitable host for rare earths to minimize non-radiative losses.…”

“…This reduces the adverse clustering of dopant species and it provides ground for adequate fluorescence emission [9]. It also combines the property of high rare earth ion solubility, which is important for developing Er 3+ -doped amplifiers [6]. In order to accomplish the demand for large bandwidth needed for the wavelength division multiplexing systems, the optical properties of the Er 3+ ions in different glass matrices have widely been studied.…”

“…Os índices de refração linear e não-linear de óxidos de telúrio são menores apenas que os vidros de calcogenetos [31], mas estes apresentam a desvantagem de necessitar de atmosfera especial para fusão e têm região de formação vítrea bem restrita. Vidros de telureto apresentam baixas energias de fônon (600-850), características dos vidros que transmitem na região do infravermelho médio [55]. Tal fato se deve às fracas energias de ligação entre os cátions com grande massa atômica e os átomos de oxigênio.…”
