Abstract

la telemedicina encarna la unión entre tecnología y medicina puestas al servicio de la persona. El avance de las nuevas herramientas para la información y comunicación han tenido su impacto en todas las áreas de la medicina. Particularmente en la medicina de familia, abre múltiples oportunidades en áreas como: teleconsulta, telemonitoreo de enfermedades crónicas, teleatención de problemas cutáneos, teleatención al niño, teleatención en embarazo y puerperio, teleatención mental, teleprevención, telerehabilitación, así como posibilidades en formación, referencia, interconsulta y atención domiciliar. La telemedicina no puede ser un sustituto, sino un poderoso acompañante de la atención médica, que permita brindar los servicios integrales que la especialidad ofrece a su población.
