TEKNIK PEMBENIHAN IKAN NILA NIRWANA (oreochromis niloticus) DI BALAI BENIH IKAN (BBI) CIBIRU KOTA BANDUNG

Abstract

One of the freshwater fish commodities that are widely cultivated in West Java-Indonesia is tilapia nirwana. The purpose of this article is an observation study of tilapia Nirwana hatchery techniques in BBI Cibiru. Based on obsevarsi study through fieldwork practices that have been implemented in UPT Balai Benih Ikan (BBI) Cibiru Bandung City, it can be concluded that the technique of spawning tilapia Nirwana in UPT Balai Benih Ikan (BBI) Cibiru includes the stage of parent maintenance, pond preparation, parent selection, and parent spawning. Nirvana tilapia spawning techniques conducted at UPT Balai Benih Ikan (BBI) Cibiru are using natural methods, namely the process of entry of sperm cells into the egg naturally without human assistance and without hormonal assistance implanted into the body of the fish. Factors that affect the success of spawning tilapia naturally is the maturity of the gonads, the type of water as a living medium of fish, container maintenance, nutrition or fish feed, and the influence of temperature, oxygen solarrutan and pH of the waters.
