“…Ernici District consists of alkali basalts, latites, trachytes, and leucitites pyroclastic and lava vents (0.7-0.1 Ma [Civetta et al, 1981, and references therein]), located along NW-SE, NE-SW, and N-S fractures [Angelucci et al, 1974;Acocella et al, 1996]. The longest fissure ($20 km, Latina Valley Fissure), N-S trending, is associated with dextral faults (Figure 5d) [Acocella et al, 1996;Sani et al, 2004] and erupted the lowest 87 Sr/ 86 Sr ratios of the NW CampaniaLatium region [Civetta et al, 1981;Beccaluva et al, 1984;Turi et al, 1991]. Ponza island (Figure 3) mainly consists of lower Pleistocene submarine silica-rich hyaloclastites and rhyolitic dikes, emplaced along a NE-SW direction, consistently with the recognized fracture pattern [Carmassi et al, 1983;De Rita et al, 2001].…”
