Abstract: A incapacidade de adquirir a linguagem oral prejudica o indivíduo surdo, pois interfere significativamente nas relações com o mundo e reduz as trocas simbólicas com o meio social. “…Ao longo do desenvolvimento infantil, a exposição precoce à linguagem falada no grupo familiar, mediante o uso dos dispositivos auxiliares, fez com que a comunicação entre a criança com DA e seus familiares fosse adequada à percepção dos pais (16) .
