Technology of Multi-stage Sterilization of Raw Materials with the Production of Feed Meal of High Biological Value

Abstract: The article is devoted to the study of the sterilization of waste materials and animal feed meal. It was revealed that at the last stage of waste processing of animal origin, as a result of fine grinding in the crusher, feed meal of low biological value is obtained. As a result of research, a technology of multistage sterilization of raw materials has been developed with obtaining feed meal of animal origin of high biological value due to cooking-sterilization (stage 1), drying-sterilization (stage 2), steam s… Show more

“…Figure 1 shows a line for the production of fat and feed meal from raw materials and animal waste. The method is carried as follows: raw materials of animal origin are fed to a saw for sawing [1]. They are then fed into a power grinder [2], where the raw material is pre-crushed by working elements by shock-cutting in sections.…”

“…When processing raw materials of animal origin, including those of waste fish, for the production of feed products, 1,2 it is important to create conditions for the not allowing this waste to be consumed by the population, and to guarantee food security to the population and human health [3][4] . At the same time, attention should be paid to non-waste complex processing of raw materials with the aim to obtain the maximum possible number of useful and safe products [5][6][7][8][9] .…”

“…Therefore, under the premise of ensuring work efficiency, the materials should be sterilized as much as possible. Comprehensive considerations include steam sterilization, a steam temperature at the outlet above 120 C, a sterilization time of 1 min (Iskakov et al 2019), UV sterilization, a UV wavelength of 253.7 nm, and a sterilization time of 15 min (Murata et al 2008). The chemical composition of the inhibitor was potassium sorbate, which could effectively inhibit the activities of mold, yeast, and aerobic bacteria.…”

“…Dryers differ from each other in various ways. Heated air, gas or vapor mixtures can be used as a drying agent [3][4][5]. Under certain conditions, drying performs the role of sterilization, including with the use of a steam flow.…”
