Technology for Digitalization in Africa

Abstract

Africa has been on the development trajectory since its liberation from colonialism. Scholars, policy makers, and the citizens of Africa unanimously agree that freedom means nothing without development, and development means nothing without freedom. Over the years, Africans have been in search of development modals and strategies that suits the conditions of the peoples of Africa, which will remedy the historical injustices. As the fourth industrialization (4IR) unravels, many questions are raised: (1) Is 4IR compatible to Africa's developmental agenda? (2) Can 4IR help Africa tackle poverty and inequality, enhance inclusion, and foster sustainable development?
