Techno-economic optimal planning of an industrial microgrid considering integrated energy resources

Abstract: Microgrids have benefited energy systems by getting rid of the abundant use of traditional energy resources, replacing them with distributed generations (DGs). The use of DGs in microgrids not only provides clean and green energy but also reduces the gigantic losses in transmission and distribution lines. Widespread adoption of renewable energy in microgrids saves customers from high fuel prices and provides a sustainable replacement for future fossil fuel depletion. Microgrids have proven to be the latest and… Show more

“…Ref. [154] proposed to perform an economic and technological feasibility analysis of microgrids based on the cost of electricity when operating in the grid-connected and islanded modes. At the same time, a comprehensive analysis should be made of the available capacity of dispatchable and non-dispatchable DERs, taking into account the annual growth of electricity consumption by 12%.…”

“…Du et al (2022) solved the problem of optimizing resource allocation within the workshop through reinforcement learning. Ahmed et al (2023) discussed the optimal planning of an industrial microgrid considering integrated energy resources, and paid more attention to the impact of scheduling models on economic effects. Both traditional scheduling algorithms and intelligent scheduling algorithms represented by machine learning are focused on production problems in certain special environments, mainly in the production workshop or a certain section.…”

“…When considering the generation cost of power sources, achieving optimal power sharing becomes a crucial problem that can be solved through an economic dispatch model (Ahmed et al, 2023). Distributed economic dispatch optimization algorithms have been developed, taking advantage of consensus algorithms in multi-agent systems, including the ϵ-based consensus algorithm (Yang et al, 2013), distributed bisection method (Xing et al, 2015), distributed projected gradient algorithm (Guo et al, 2016), subgradient-based consensus algorithm (Wang et al, 2016b), eventtriggered consensus algorithm (Li et al, 2016), and consensus-based energy management algorithm (Zhao et al, 2016).…”
