Techniques For Minimizing And Estimating Post-earthquake Fire Losses

Abstract: The state of the art of earthquake and fire protection engineering have advanced to the point where it is now possible to identify and, in many instances, mitigate sources of post-earthquake fire. A rapid and a detailed technique can be used to identify these hazards in industrial facilities. A probabilistic engineering method can be used to estimate the fire safety of a plant. Carried further, this method can be used to predict the annual loss from earthquake-induced fires.
