Teaching in balkan countries

Abstract

A joint educational project connecting seventeen universities from ten countries, nine of them belonging to wider Balkan area, exists for more than a decade now. The project started with the goal of creating common teaching material for the course in "Software Engineering", but outgrew this original goal. Not just that several more common courses were created, but also the complete master studies direction in the field was produced (within another project continuing the work of some of the participating universities) and is conducted for several years now in two Balkan countries. Over the years, a lot of multicultural and multilingual activities were performed, including exchange of teaching resources and ideas, guest lecturing, creation of tools for translation and standardization of presentations. This paper will present some of the developments and advantages of such approach over the years.
