In this study, the conceptions of pre-university level secondary students with respect to radiation and radioactivity were investigated. A literature review determined what was already known about secondary school students' conceptions that differ from scientific theory, regarding radiation and radioactivity. Next, 12 Dutch students and their teachers were interviewed. Half of the already known student conceptions were confirmed in the interviews. The most persistent conception was students' inability to distinguish between irradiation and contamination. All newly discovered conceptions, such as students' idea that radiation can exist independently of the source of radiation, were discovered within a medical context. A remarkable finding was that students have full confidence in medical professionals, while at the same time they believe that all medical imaging techniques are dangerous. It can be concluded that curricular developments and changes in teaching contexts lead to changes in student conceptions concerning established topics. Knowledge of these conceptions and how to change them might be an important focus for teacher training, as teachers play a role in overcoming conceptions that do not correspond with prevailing scientific theories and, at the same time, may be a source of these conceptions.

Οι ικανότητες του 21ου αιώνα δεν αποτελούν μια νέα πρόταση στο χώρο της εκπαίδευσης. Ο τρόπος που οργανώνονται, αλληλοσυμπληρώνονται και διαμορφώνουν το πλαίσιο για τον μετασχηματισμό του εκπαιδευτικού σχεδιασμού στην προσχολική εκπαίδευση, συνιστά μια νέα παράμετρο που αναλύεται στο παρόν άρθρο και δημιουργεί συνδέσεις με την εισαγωγή της αγγλικής γλώσσας στο νηπιαγωγείο. Οι σύνθετες και ρευστές κοινωνικές παράμετροι και η πολυπλοκότητα της σύγχρονης ζωής διαμορφώνουν το πλαίσιο ώστε η εκπαίδευση από την προσχολική ηλικία να προσανατολίζεται στην κατεύθυνση της ανάπτυξης υπεύθυνων και ενημερωμένων πολιτών που είναι σε θέση να διαχειρίζονται τις σύγχρονες προκλήσεις της κοινωνίας λαμβάνοντας υπόψη το κοινό μέλλον. Οι ικανότητες του 21ου αιώνα αναδεικνύουν την παγκόσμια διάσταση της εκπαίδευσης και η ανάδυσή τους από την προσχολική ηλικία δημιουργεί τη βάση για την καλλιέργειά τους σε μια δια βίου προοπτική. Η εισαγωγή της αγγλικής γλώσσας στο νηπιαγωγείο βρίσκεται σε συστοιχία με αυτήν την προοπτική, καθώς παρέχει πλαίσιο και εργαλεία για την ανάπτυξη της ταυτότητας του παγκόσμιου πολίτη, ενώ ενισχύει τη διαπολιτισμική επικοινωνία και την αποδοχή του διαφορετικού. Αναφέρονται βασικές παράμετροι του εκπαιδευτικού σχεδιασμού που λαμβάνουν υπόψη το πώς μαθαίνουν τα παιδιά, το περιεχόμενο των ικανοτήτων που αναμένεται να αναπτυχθούν και παρουσιάζονται ιδέες για διαθεματικές δραστηριότητες που ενσωματώνουν λειτουργικά την εισαγωγή της αγγλικής γλώσσας στο πρόγραμμα του νηπιαγωγείου.

ZusammenfassungDer Handlungsplanung als Teil professioneller Kompetenz kommt eine wesentliche Bedeutung bei der Überführung von Wissen in spontane Handlungen in pädagogischen Situationen zu. Obwohl Forschung die Bedeutung der Handlungsplanung für professionelles Handeln im Bereich früher mathematischer Bildung kontinuierlich betont, ist sowohl empirisch als auch inhaltlich wenig bekannt, welche Formen der mathematischen Lernunterstützung sich zeigen. Es lassen sich drei Formen unterscheiden: (1) Anleitung, (2) Begleitung und (3) Keine mathematikbezogene Lernunterstützung. Die vorliegende Studie versucht einen Beitrag zur differenzierten Beschreibung der Handlungsplanung in der frühen mathematischen Bildung zu leisten, indem Daten von n = 240 angehenden Erzieher*innen explorativ untersucht werden. Die drei zuvor theoretisch aus der Literatur zur Lernunterstützung abgeleiteten Formen ließen sich als Kategorien in den schriftlich formulierten Handlungsplanungen codieren. Darüber hinaus konnten Unterkategorien identifiziert werden, die die Handlungsplanung noch differenzierter beschreiben. Die Ergebnisse werden vor dem Hintergrund der Situationsabhängigkeit, möglicher Erklärungen für die unterschiedlichen Gestaltungen der Handlungsplanungen und praktischer Implikationen diskutiert.
