This study aimed at investigating the impact of Instructional Video Games (IVGs) on the vocabulary retention of Iranian language learners. To do so, 32 male and 43 female, between the ages thirteen to thirty one years old, in Padideh Derakhshan Institute, Sahinshahr, Isfahan, Iran were selected as a whole population. First, the World English placement test was administered, and 60 learners were chosen as the participants of the study. Next, a test of novelty as a pretest of vocabulary was administered at the early stage of the study to ensure the novelty of to-be-instructed words and participants' unfamiliarity with those words. The experimental group members were treated with the new way of learning, IVGs, to practice the new words in each lesson, but control group members were treated with by memorizing the new words through a list. After four weeks both groups sat for vocabulary posttest, and about one month later they sat for delayed posttest. The results were compared statistically. The statistical analysis indicated significant difference in vocabulary retention on learners of the experimental group.

Abstract-It is important to study learning styles because recent studies have shown that a match between teaching and learning styles helps to motivate students´ process of learning. That is why teachers should identify their own teaching styles as well as their learning styles to obtain better results in the classroom. The aim is to have a balanced teaching style and to adapt activities to meet students´ style and to involve teachers in this type of research to assure the results found in this research study. Over 100 students complete a questionnaire to determine if their learning styles are auditory, visual, or kinesthetic. Discovering these learning styles will allow the students to determine their own personal strengths and weaknesses and learn from them. Teachers can incorporate learning styles into their classroom by identifying the learning styles of each of their students, matching teaching styles to learning styles for difficult tasks, strengthening weaker learning styles. The purpose of this study is to explain learning styles, teaching styles match or mismatch between learning and teaching styles, visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles among Iranian learners, and pedagogical implications for the EFL/ESL classroom. A review of the literature along with analysis of the data will determine how learning styles match the teaching styles.

Speech-to-Text or always been known as speech recognition plays an important role nowadays especially in medical area specifically in speech impairment. In this study, a Malay language speech-to-Text system was been designed by using Hidden Markov Model (HMM) as a statistical engine with emphasizing the way of Malay speech corpus design specifically for Malay articulation speech disorder. This study also describes and tests the correct number of state to analyze the changes in the performance of current Malay speech recognition in term of recognition accuracy. Statistical parametric representation method was utilized in this study and the Malay corpus database was constructed to be balanced with all the phonetic placed and manner of articulation sample appeared in Malay speech articulation therapy. The results were achieved by conducting few experiments by collecting sample from 80 patient speakers (child and adult) and contain for almost 30,720 sample training data.
