Teachers' digital technology access to motivation, skills and use: a structural equation modeling study

Abstract: PurposeThe current study aimed to develop and validate a scale to model factors affecting digital technology access for instructional use. The scale was mainly used to assess the structural model. Besides, tests of difference were addressed regarding digital technology access for instructional use based on gender, teaching experience and school location.Design/methodology/approachThe authors implemented a survey design in this study. A scale based on prior studies was developed, validated and piloted. The pilo… Show more

“…In Table 1, values (+0.700) of Cronbach's alpha, rho_A, and CR confirm all constructs' reliability and internal consistency (Ogbeibu et al, 2021). The average variance extracted (AVE) values of greater than 0.500 have an indication of satisfactory convergent validity (Habibi et al, 2021;Henseler, 2017); All AVE data show good values of more than 0.500, ranging from 0.5500 to 0.8430 (Table 1). To avoid the multicollinearity issue, VIF values were examined.…”

“…The awareness differences of students in Indonesia and Malaysia in using digital libraries could also culturally trigger this finding. More studies concerning demographic information should be conducted to support the current findings in the future (Habibi et al, 2021b;Ramírez-Correa et al, 2015). More information exchanges should be conducted for both stakeholders in Indonesia and Malaysia.…”

“…The IPMA comprised two aspects, namely, importance and performance. The outer weights should be positive that have a similar orientation (Habibi et al, 2021b). To EL 40,4 support the structural model assessment, a t-test was conducted to understand the differences between two variables, behavioural intention and digital library use, based on respondents' locations, Indonesia and Malaysia.…”

“…±3) (Schumacker and Lomax, 2004;Kline, 2015). Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS version 3.3.3 was used for further analysis to : * Indicators with loadings <0.5 were removed, skewness/kurtosis normal range is ±2/±3, ** CR of all variables is > 0.7, *** AVE of all variables is > 0.5 handle the non-normal skewed data, which is an emerging and widely used tool in social science inquiries for the last few decades (Hair et al, 2019a, b;Sarstedt et al, 2020;Habibi et al, 2021). This tool neither violates the data normality conditions nor imposes distributional assumptions on the data; it produces precise results on complex models and small sample sizes (Sarstedt et al, 2016).…”
