La pandemia evidenció el bajo nivel de calidad en el que se encontraba el sistema educativo en el Perú y los efectos en salud mental y física, relacionados al estrés en los docentes dentro del contexto de la educación virtual superior. El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar los principales aportes teóricos del estrés laboral en docentes en el contexto de pandemia. Para el análisis se usó el método cualitativo y diseño tipo documental, recolectando y revisando fuentes científicas relacionadas al tema dentro del periodo que duró el confinamiento. Esto permitió entender que los principales aportes teóricos estaban relacionados al estrés laboral dentro de la educación a distancia, a los factores internos y externos que promueven el estrés, al síndrome de burnout y al tecnoestrés, factores para los que los docentes no estaban preparados. Frente a esta situación, se sumó, la falta de conectividad y el implemento de equipos digitales de última generación. Se pudo concluir entonces la importancia del bienestar integral del docente y el equilibrio de los factores internos y externos determinantes del estrés, para asegurar su adecuado desempeño laboral dentro del contexto de la virtualidad que llevó la pandemia.

People's lives and jobs have changed drastically because of the COVID-19 crisis. COVID-19 has resulted in burnout brought on by ongoing work stress, which negatively affects both employees and their businesses. It may result in despair, substance abuse, interpersonal issues, personal and professional frustration, social isolation, relationship issues, and, in severe cases, suicide. The experience of burnout has been the focus of much research during the past few decades. However, there is a lack of research that covers scope on work burnout among the government and private sectors and focusing more on medical health practices. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the level of burnout among workers in the government and private sectors in Malaysia in terms of personal-related burnout, workrelated burnout, and colleagues-related burnout. For this study, a quantitative and crosssectional study was employed and a total of 108 respondents were purposely chosen across age groups from the private and government sector in Malaysia. The respondents were given an online questionnaire that was distributed using a google form that consists of 18 questions that measures the domains of personal burnout, work related burnout and colleague related burnout. The findings showed that on average, respondents sometimes have personal and work burnout. On the other hand, respondents rarely perceived colleagues related burnout.In conclusion, all employees and employers must be willing to work together to minimize this problem especially in organization and it is crucial to learn how to prevent burnout and to seek professional attention if it happens.

“…A research of Canadian teachers' attitudes toward technology before and during the pandemic has shown no significant difference in attitudes(Sokal et al, 2020), which is slightly surprising, but actually supports the thought that previous technologies' shrewdness (or the lack of it) of teaching staff assists in adjusting the new working conditions.As one of previous studies conducted in Great Britain has shown that some of the participants have reported increased levels of stress due to disruption of their regular activities, that is especially burdening mothers with children, excluding some of the participants who appreciated new challenges that generated a need for more innovative solutions (Ashencaen Crabtree et al, 2020), we can see that the interviews conducted at our observed Institution got similar results. Some of the research has been focused on increasing levels of stress and its relation, among others, to feelings of burnout, teaching competence, attitudes toward change of various ranks of university teachers(Sokal et al, 2021;Pyhältö et al, 2021;Shlenskaya et al, 2020) that have showed different levels of stress for various groups of teachers.…”

The issue of work-life balance of teaching staff at higher education institutions is becoming more interesting for the researchers due to complexity in responsibilities of teachers which include not only teaching and preparation of lectures, but primarily scientific research and scientific papers writing, as well as various administrative and managerial duties (vice deans, department chiefs, etc.). This topic is getting importance not only in regard to women in higher education teaching positions, but to overall attracting and retaining talent This complex problem has been particularly evident in disaster circumstances such as the COVID-19 virus pandemic. This paper studies attitudes (in the form of interviews) of teaching staff -teaching assistants, lecturers (languages), assistant professors, associate professors and full professors towards the achieved work-life balance during period of working from home during the lockdown imposed in Serbia from March, to May when the most higher education institutions returned to semi-regular ways of operations on the example of the School of Engineering Management from Belgrade, the Republic of Serbia. Even though the sample is small, it can be concluded that all levels of teaching staff have had difficulties in maintaining work-life balance during the work from home, especially the ones with children of school age.
