Abstract: In 1932, twelve geophysicists graduated the Department of Geophysics of the Sverdlovsk Mining Institute. Most of them became nationally-recognized geophysicists and explorers. Aizik Shapiro could be one of them. He began teaching at the age of 15, taught refresher courses, as well as the courses on mine surveying and geophysical prospecting at the Sverdlovsk Mining Institute and at Kazakhstan institutes while still a student.
