This article explores how the principles of strategic management can be applied effectively in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teaching. By drawing parallels between organizational success and student achievement, it explores how teachers can use strategic planning, needs analysis, differentiation, and continuous improvement to create a stimulating and effective learning experience for their students. The article highlights the importance of aligning with educational goals, understanding student needs, and taking a student-centered approach to improve instructional effectiveness. It highlights the importance of conducting a needs assessment to develop instructional strategies, as well as the critical role of curriculum design and resource allocation in accommodating diverse learning styles and maximizing student engagement. In addition, the article discusses the importance of assessment and monitoring to track student progress and make instructional decisions. Finally, it explores the importance of utilizing innovation and new technologies to enhance language acquisition and create a dynamic learning environment. By applying these strategic management principles, EFL classrooms can transform from static environments into dynamic centers for language learning where both teachers and students are active participants in the learning process.

Zoom Cloud Meetings is a web-based learning platform that was utilized during the COVID-19 epidemic as a learning tool. The purpose of this study was to find out what students at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang felt about utilizing Zoom Cloud Meetings as a medium for learning and listening during the epidemic. A qualitative case study research technique was used in this study. The participants in this study were third-semester EFL students from UIN Raden Fatah Palembang's English education study program, with four students employing a deliberate sample using maximum variance sampling. The data was gathered using a semi-structured interview with open-ended questions. The theme analysis approach was used to analyze the data. The study's findings revealed the following benefits and drawbacks of using Zoom Cloud Meetings for listening skill development: (1) the influence of the first language on listening skills, (2) Zoom Cloud Meetings features, (3) internet connection, (4) security issues, (5) time limitation, (6) lack of vocabulary mastery, (7) homophone words, and (8) prior knowledge about the topics. As a result, the study's findings revealed the following benefits and drawbacks of using Zoom Cloud Meetings in learning to listen: the influence of the first language on listening skills, Zoom Cloud Meetings features, internet connection, security issues, time constraints, lack of vocabulary mastery, homophone words, and prior knowledge about the topics.

The objective of this research was to investigate the students’ difficulties in writing descriptive text, the most dominant difficulty faced by the students, and the students’ strategies to overcome these difficulties. This study was conducted at the Seventh Grade of SMP Sint Carolus Bengkulu. This is a descriptive quantitative study. The instruments used in this research were questionnaire and interview. Based on the results, it was found that students experienced difficulties in the three aspects of the study, namely linguistic, psychological, and cognitive difficulties. In each of these aspects, organization is the highest one followed by behaviour, feedback, grammatical items, and vocabulary. In organizations, difficulties in developing ideas are the most difficult. Anxiety is the highest difficulty in behaviour, while the lack of practice is the most difficulty in the feedback. The difficulty in using connectors is the highest point in the grammatical items, and the lack of vocabulary is the most difficulty in the vocabulary. Based on the questionnaire and interview results, organization was the most difficult aspect in writing descriptive text. To overcome the difficulties, the students choose to master vocabulary and learning from other sources such as books or the internet while the others like to read from dictionary. Finally, it is also suggested for other researchers to carry out similar research in a broader scope, as well as a description, especially about the mechanic that get negative results.
