Abstract:HiRadMat is a unique user facility providing a controlled test environment for accelerator experiments investigating the effects of high energy, high intensity proton beam. HiRadMat uses a 440 GeV/c proton beam fastly-extracted from the CERN SPS and can currently provide a maximum pulse intensity of 3.5 × 10 13 protons. Initially designed to explore the damage thresholds of accelerator components which experienced thermal shocks induced by high-brightness beams, HiRadMat has continued to advance into new areas… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
