Abstract: Calcium imaging is an important functional tool for addressing ion channels, transporters and pumps for drug screening in living cells. Depicted eukaryotic cell-free systems utilize microsomes, derived from endoplasmic reticulum to incorporate the synthesized membrane proteins.
