Tandem organic solar cells with an inverted structure

Abstract: In this dissertation, systematic study on organic solar cells (OSCs) with inverted and tandem structures and a new polymer based solar cell is presented. An inverted device has been demonstrated using low work function (LWF) metal Ca modified ITO as cathode and MoO 3 modified Ag as anode. In tandem devices, an efficient Al/MoO 3 intermediate layer achieving optical and electrical sub-cell connection, has been developed and employed in various types of tandem devices, including polymer/small molecule and polyme… Show more

“…In recent years, the use of ZnO in photovoltaic devices has been expanding. In 2008, a ZnO electron selective layer was prepared by Kyaw et al using a solgel process in an inverted organic photovoltaic (OPV) device on a glass substrate to achieve a PCE of 3.09% [7]. Then, Hau et al adopted spin-coated ZnO nanoparticles as the electron selective layer for inverted OPV devices fabricated on a glass and plastic substrates, respectively.…”
