Abstract

equivalence as the degree of representation, systemic approach recognizing the language and representation as a system and poststructuralist and postcolonialist approach underlining the partial and subjective nature of both representation and translation. How we define translation determines our translation theory and our theory determines our notion of translation. In this article, translation is studied as a representation and the limits of this representation are questioned in different paradigms of Translation Studies.
