Abstract:This study explores a novel approach to quenching and partitioning (Q&P) heat treatment applied to AISI 9260 spring steel, comprising Fe-0.65C-1.58Mn-1.05Si-0.41Cr (wt.%). Our research focuses on balancing strength and ductility through optimized Q&P pathways, leading to a diverse microstructure that includes martensite, bainite, carbide, and retained austenite.
