Tailoring NiMo-Based Catalysts for Production of Low-Viscosity Sustainable Hydrocarbon Bases for Drilling Muds from Secondary Gas Oils

Abstract: This article presents the prospect of using the process of deep hydrodesulfurization and hydrodearomatization of secondary gas oils using highly active NiMo catalysts to obtain hydrocarbon bases for drilling fluids. Catalysts were synthesized using PMo heteropolyanions, citric acid, and diethylene glycol on alumina carriers with different pore volumes.
