Tailoring nano-copolymer/CNTs composite and its application in drug delivery

Abstract: This work aimed to overcome the main drawbacks of some essential anticancer drugs as 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) by controlled loading with novel drug carriers. By a differential microemulsion technique, nanosized particles derived from a copolymer of poly(methyl methacrylate (MMA) and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA)) with different monomer ratios have been synthesized and used as a drug carrier. Poly(MMA-co-HEMA)/MWCNT nanocomposite was also synthesized using an in-situ microemulsion polymerization technique and… Show more

“…The synthesized CHAA can be easily in situ copolymerized with MMA, DMAEMA, and AA, forming homogenous, semitransparent copolymer latex in excellent yield. Where the repeating and attachment arose through the olefinic double bond of CHAA and the ester side of copolymer 10,11 . Poly (MMA/DMAEMA/AA/CHAA) nanosphere latex was produced with a solid content of 13.5% and monomer conversion of 87%.…”

“…CHAA and the ester side of copolymer. 10,11 Poly (MMA/DMAEMA/ AA/CHAA) nanosphere latex was produced with a solid content of 13.5% and monomer conversion of 87%. These novel polymeric nanospheres were investigated through TEM, FT-IR, 1 HNMR and TGA; in addition, the electrochemical properties were studied.…”

“…Microemulsion polymerization can be used to create innovative and versatile polymeric nanospheres. In this study, a semi-transparent, uniformly distributed, and thermodynamically stable 33,34 poly(MMA/DMAEMA/ AA) nanospheres were generated. The solid content of these nanospheres was 15.5% and the monomer conversion was 92%, as displayed in Figure 3.…”
