Tachism: Tri-Port Antenna with Triple Notching Characteristic and High Isolation System for MIMO Application

Abstract: A novel ultra-wideband (UWB) KAYI-shaped and common KITE-shaped ground plane tri-port antenna is proposed. The proposed research work has a small size of (30 × 30 × 1.6 mm3). The MIMO antenna elements are placed in a KAYI-shaped (Y-shaped) with a symmetric phase shift of 120∘ between the nearby MIMO antennas element improving the isolation. The antenna’s gain is more than 5 dBi for the entire bands of WiMax, WLAN, and X-band satellite communication. The suggested work includes notches at 3.2 GHz, 5.2 GHz, and … Show more

“…An ellipse-shaped leaky antenna for an X-band will land the aircraft and drone in any direction during the war and high gain is achieved [ 30 ]. To mitigate, the interference between UWB and different narrow band different notches is introduced in the band through different techniques such as complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) and parasitic elements [ 31 , 32 ]. Combining unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) with CR increases the general performance.…”

“…To overcome this challenge and improve the quality of RF signals while utilizing available bandwidth efficiently, different techniques have been introduced in MIMO systems. For instance, CSRR (Complementary Split-Ring Resonator) slots and J-shaped slots have been utilized for notching dual bands [ 32 ], while coupling reduction has been achieved through resonating slots on the ground or isolation elements placed between resonating elements [ 33 , 34 ]. In a co and cross configuration, periodic S-shaped DGS units (PSDGS) have been placed between square patch elements to induce high isolation [ 35 ].…”
