temperature nuclear orientation thermometry, in particular y-ray anisotrwpy therimometry, is discussed both from a theoretical and practical point of view. Detailed information is given on the most often used 7-ray anisotropy TMermnometers, along with a comprehensive descriptiom of the --ray anisotropy technique. The "Co in (hcp) cobalt single crystal F-ray anisotropy thermometer is discussed in considerable detail since it is used more frequently in comparison experiments with other primary thermomreters. Recent experimental results using --ray amisotropy thermometers are also reviewed.

Radioactive ~~ T~/2=4.2h ) and l~~ T~/2=4.9h ) were produced via the ~~ (~, x n) reactions and recoil-implanted into Fe foils. With the technique of nuclear magnetic resonance on oriented nuclei the magnetic hyperfine splittings were investigated in external magnetic fields B0=0.5 ... 4.2 kG. The zero-field splitting were measured as 268.9(2)MHz and 147.3(3)MHz for l~ and 11~ respectively. With the known hyperfine field BHF(InFe)=-286.6(5)kG the nuclear g-factors are deduced as g(l~ and g(ll~ Our result for 1~ shows that the gg9/2 g-factors vary by only ~0.1% between A=109 and 115. For the I 7c g9/2 V d5/2) 7 + state of ~~ the additivity relation of magnetic moments is fulfilled to on accuracy of 0.3(3) %.
