“…As mentioned above, AA activates host inflammatory response ( Grimble and Tappia, 1998 ; Levick et al, 2007 ). Tabersonine can protect the lung from acute injury via inhibiting ubiquitination of the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR)-associated factor 6 (TRAF6), which plays immuno-inflammatory roles ( Zhang et al, 2018 ). Thus, downregulation of tabersonine may enhance the immune response to clear T. gondii in cerebellum.…”

“…Besides, some quinoline and indole alkaloids isolated from Melodinus plants, such as 15-dihydroscandine, 15β-hydroxy-14,15-dihydroscandine, melaxillines A and B, melodinine T, scandine, 11-hydroxytabersonine, and O -methyl-Δ 14 -vincanol-3-one exhibited significant anti-inflammatory activity [ 17 , 28 , 44 , 45 ]. Among the isolates in this study, tabersonine ( 4 ) could attenuate LPS-induced acute lung injury and inhibited LPS-mediated macrophage activation in vitro [ 46 ], 11-hydroxytabersonine ( 5 ) showed inhibitory effect on NO production [ 17 ], tubotaiwine ( 9 ) showed good inhibitions on COX-1 and COX-2 in anti-inflammatory assay in vitro [ 47 ], and melaxilline A ( 14 ), scandine ( 12 ), and meloscandonine ( 15 ) significantly inhibited in release of β-glucuronidase [ 28 ], suggesting these compounds may be responsible for the anti-inflammatory effect of MHTA.…”
