T2* relaxometry mapping has found diverse applications in neuroradiology but was insufficiently evaluated in pelvis MRI. Further, staging of the uterine-related cancers may be sometimes a cumbersome. Our aim is to present the T2* relaxometry maps respectively relaxometry and proton density values in patients with endometrial and cervical cancer, together with their postoperative outcomes. Three patients with uterine-related cancers underwent a 3T pelvic MRI examination. The protocol included a large field-of-view (FOV = 28 cm), a short (TE=30 ms) and a long (TE = 200 ms) echo time sequences. T2* maps were obtained by the means of post-processing methods. Parametric maps showed same Relaxation Time (RT) between endometrial cancer and adjacent metastatic lymphadenopathy, respectively different RT between endometrial and cervical cancer. In conclusion, we presented the T2* relaxometry values of endometrial and cervical cancer, and discuss their possible implications in FIGO staging and patient management. Thinning and irregularity of the myometrial fourth layer in cases of endometrial malignancy might help in identification of superficial myoinvasion-this might be a new imaging armamentarium in nulliparous females where uterine preservation might be a consideration. The T relaxation times of the myometrium and endometrium described here will help optimize the time to echo for the acquisition of MSE for relaxometry of the female pelvis. Advances in knowledge: Thinning and irregularity of the fourth myometrial layer helps in the identification of superficial myometrial invasion with a greater confidence and helps triage patients for uterine preservation when necessary. T relaxometry might be undertaken in those nulliparous women with endometrial carcinoma in whom demonstration of no myometrial invasion will make them candidates for uterine preservation. Thickening of the fourth myometrial layer in adenomyosis requires further evaluation in a larger cohort of patients as an additional imaging finding. T relaxation times of endometrial carcinoma is different from the normal endometrium in the three cases imaged, thus, further studies evaluating the T values in a larger cohort might help in differentiating diseased from the healthy endometrium. T time of the pelvic tissue described in the study will help select the time to echoes for MSE imaging of the female pelvis in further studies.

Presenting quantitative data using non‐standardized color maps potentially results in unrecognized misinterpretation of data. Clinically meaningful color maps should intuitively and inclusively represent data without misleading interpretation. Uniformity of the color gradient for color maps is critically important. Maximal color and lightness contrast, readability for color vision‐impaired individuals, and recognizability of the color scheme are highly desirable features. This article describes the use of color maps in five key quantitative MRI techniques: relaxometry, diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI), dynamic contrast‐enhanced (DCE)‐MRI, MR elastography (MRE), and water‐fat MRI. Abstract: A quantitative T2* map can easily be obtained using the PRIDE software T2* fitting tool, and the software reproduces the result from previous report. T2* value of the junctional zone was lower than that of peripheral myometrium regardless of having benign myometrial diseases.
