Systems Analysis in Multi-band, Multi Mode Radio Design

Abstract

The increasing number of radio systems and the concept of heterogeneous networking necessitates the use of multi-band, multi-mode radios (MMR). When designing MMRs, there are several approaches and technologies to be used. The designer must somehow choose between those alternatives. In software engineering quality attributes are used to quantify the importance of possible features that software may have. The use of attributes can be broadened to system level design of MMRs. In this paper, a list of quality attributes is defined and their use is described.
