Abstract: Hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) is characterized by the presence of microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, generalized microvascular occlusion and acute kidney injury, which can be divided into typical HUS -caused by Escherichia coli producing Shiga toxin; Primary atypical HUS and secondary atypical HUS.
