Abstract: A systematic study of the acoustoelectric interaction of surface waves with inhomogeneously distributed free carriers is performed in the sandwich structure CdS on LiNbO,. The real part and the imaginary part of the propagation constant are determined experimentally as a function of the wavelength and intensity of the light used for illumination of the photoconductor.
