“…The color of the mixture turned purplered from pale yellow within 5 min and the formation of gold nanoparticles was characterized by UV-Visible spectroscopy. Full details of synthesis, characterization and stability studies of EGCg-AuNP in biologically relevant solutions (10% NaCl, 0.5% cysteine, 0.2 M histidine, 0.5% HSA and different pH buffers) (7,9) are provided in SI Text (15).…”

“…Published clinical series suggest some clinical benefit from CPRT in a number of conditions when compared with current conventional X-ray techniques 11. Despite the fact that the existing evidence is not at the highest level (2011 Oxford CEBM Levels of Evidence (Introductory Document), Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine: http://www.cebm.net/index.aspx?o=5653), the available clinical results have important implications in that they may influence the judgment of individual clinicians and could disturb clinical equipoise, while also possibly influencing patients’ views.…”

“…Currently there are seven proton beam facilities running in the USA and at least there are four more under construction. 17 With the emergence of new facilities, along with new surgeons, radiation oncologists, and physicists treating this rare disease, it has become imperative that accurate and reproducible tools be used in the planning process to ensure continued high success rates. Errors are possible during the surgical, planning, and/or treatment process, and hence methods to continually develop our standards of practice are essential.…”
