Abstract:The article analyses information about the distribution of the Red-Naped Shaheen (Falco peregrinus babylonicus) in Kazakhstan from the 19th century to the present. Based on these data, the boundaries of the breeding range were drawn and expert estimates of abundance were obtained. The article also discusses the systematic position of the Red-Naped Shaheen. It proposes that it be considered a subspecies of the peregrine falcon in the new edition of the Red Data Book of Kazakhstan.
