Systematic literature review on work domains represented by the abstraction hierarchy

Abstract: Ecological interface design allows the user to cope with three types of events: (a) familiar, (b) occasional, but anticipated and (c) unexpected. To cope with unexpected events, this theoretical framework recommends starting with an analysis of the work domain and the main technique is the abstraction hierarchy (AH).
