Systematic in silico discovery of novel solute carrier-like proteins from proteomes

Abstract: Solute carrier (SLC) proteins represent the largest superfamily of transmembrane transporters, the systematic analysis of which is hampered by their functional and structural heterogeneity, despite their biological importance.
