SYSTEMATIC CALCULATIONS OF ENERGY LEVELS AND TRANSITION RATES OF BE-LIKE IONS WITH Z = 10–30 USING A COMBINED CONFIGURATION INTERACTION AND MANY-BODY PERTURBATION THEORY APPROACH

Abstract: We report calculations of energy levels and radiative rates for transitions among the lowest 116 fine-structure levels arising from the ⩽ n 5 configurations in Be-like ions with Z = 10-30. The wavelengths, oscillator strengths, line strengths, and radiative rates for all possible electric dipole, magnetic dipole, electric quadrupole, and magnetic quadrupole transitions among the 116 levels have been calculated using the combined configuration interaction and many-body perturbation method. The accuracy of the r… Show more

“…Gu (2008) implemented this method in the FAC package, which has successfully been used to calculate atomic data of high accuracy (Gu 2005b(Gu , 2007Wang et al 2014Wang et al , 2015Wang et al , 2016aSi et al 2016). In this method, the Hilbert space of the system is divided into two subspaces, including a model space M and an orthogonal space N .…”

“…These observations require theoretical studies to supply more extensive atomic data of high accuracy. Considering this, we have recently provided accurate atomic data for L-shell ions, including the beryllium, boron, carbon, nitrogen, fluorine, and neon isoelectronic sequences Ekman et al 2014;Wang et al 2014Wang et al , 2015Wang et al , 2016aRadžiūtė et al 2015;Si et al 2016). In this paper, systematic calculations for oxygen-like ions from Cr XVII to Zn XXIII are reported.…”

“…The second-order MBPT approach (Lindgren 1974;Safronova et al 1996), implemented by Gu (2005Gu ( , 2006 in FAC has been used successfully to calculate atomic parameters with high accuracy (Gu 2007;Gu et al 2011;Wang et al 2014;Fei et al 2014;Guo et al 2015;Wang et al 2015;Si et al 2015a,b). Here we briefly describe the theory.…”

“…This MBPT approach has been proved to be significant improvement in accuracy compared with the relativistic configuration interaction (RCI) method in the FAC code. 27,28 The close-coupling R-matrix approach 29 were utilized to provide the collision strength of electron impact excitation. In order to include the cascade contribution on the excited level population, the collision excitation from the ground or lower n states to higher n states which were not offered by R-matrix data were solved via the relativistic distorted wave (DW) method in FAC.…”
