Systematic Analysis of Escherichia coli Isolates from Sheep and Cattle Suggests Adaption to the Rumen Niche

Abstract: The commonly used laboratory bacterium Escherichia coli normally does not produce and secrete cellulases due to its complex bilayer membrane structure and poor secretory apparatus.
