Systematic Analysis for Neck-Length and Q-Values on Cluster Decay from Ba Isotopes

Abstract: The present study provides a detailed investigation of the neck-configuration and Q-values on the cluster decay of proton-rich even-even 124-128Ba isotopes using the relativistic mean-field (RMF) formalism with the NL3* parameter set. The densities of the interacting nuclei from the RMF approach are folded with the R3Y and M3Y interactions to obtain the nuclear potential via the double-folding technique. The preformed cluster model (PCM) based on the quantum mechanical fragmentation theory is employed for the … Show more

“…Elaborate details about the range of proximity of ∆R can be found in Refs. [34,35] and the references therein. Other decay properties such as the barrier lowering (∆V B ), driving potential V(R a )-Q, penetrability (P) and decay constant (λ) are analysed for each reaction system in the first decay chain ( 243 Fm → 239 Cf → 235 Cm) and the second decay chain ( 245 Fm → 241 Cf → 237 Cm) are displayed in Table 1.…”

“…However, this ΔR value is not energetically favorable in the case of R3Y, owing to its unique barrier charactertistics (see Refs. [55][56][57] for details on the predictability range of both R3Y and M3Y interactions). Despite the change in ΔR, a regular pattern is maintained in the driving potential profile for both interactions.…”

“…[30] with χ 2 deviation of 0.1561. This allows for the situation where different clusters are being emitted from the same parent nucleus and it is possible to inspect the structural information of the emitted clusters, as well as their respective daughter nucleus [32,33]. On the other hand, the decay energy is omitted here, which compromises the physics of the cluster emission process, since exothermicity, Q > 0, cannot be undermined in any decay process.…”

“…The nuclear potential is generally estimated by phenomenological [36,37] or microscopic approaches [38,39], and is the most important ingredient in cluster radioactivity studies. In this study, the recently developed R3Y nucleon-nucleon (NN) potential [33,40] which is derived from the relativistic mean-field (RMF) Lagrangian using the NL3 * parameter set [41] is used for the analysis. The results are also compared with its cognate phenomenological M3Y NN potential [42].…”
