Background: Sick sinus syndrome (SSS), in terms of diagnosis and treatment, is one of the most difficult problems associated with irregular heart rhythm. Until now, there is no unified generally accepted theory explaining its pathogenesis, there are no unambiguous criteria for making a diagnosis. In this regard, it is interesting to consider this disease from the point of view of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) based on the results of assessing the bioenergetics of such patients using the Akabane test. Methods/Design: On the basis of the cardiac surgery department of a multidisciplinary hospital, 107 patients with a verified diagnosis of SSS and receiving only medication were examined. Of these, there were 64 men and 43 women. In total, 245 tests of Akabane were carried out, including in the dynamics of observation. Results: according to this test, with tachy and brady syndrome, as well as with normosystole, these patients showed general patterns at the level of acupuncture canals (AC), which consisted in an increase in asymmetry at the level of their left and right branches, while in the norm of this asymmetry was not. In addition, the opposite dominance of the left and right branches of the AC was revealed in tachy and brady syndrome. The analysis of these dependencies from the point of view of TCM is carried out. The possibility of predicting the time and nature of arrhythmias based on the assessment of biorhythms of certain AC is shown. Conclusion: Alternative concepts of the pathogenesis of this disease are shown. The use of the Akabane test for patients with SSS allows them to be effectively monitored based on new physical principles, which is much easier and more convenient compared to traditional methods.

Background: In view of its prevalence, type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a socially significant disease, which affects millions of patients. Despite the significant advances in modern medicine, there are problems with early diagnosis and effective treatment of this disease, especially at home. In this regard, it would be interesting to pay attention to the possibility of diagnosing and treating this disease from reverse the viewpoint of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Methods/Design: In order to assess patterns of heat sensitivity thresholds of acupuncture channels (AC) in patients with T2D, the Akabane test was carried out on with 116 men and 190 women. For comparison, a group of healthy subjects made up of 112 men and 277 women was also used. Results: Simple effects of paired comparisons between healthy subjects and T2D in groups of men and women, showed significant differences. The most significant differences are seen in the AC connected with the digestive system. In this case, the greatest diagnostic value is the level of asymmetry between the right and left branches of these AC, which varies in proportion to the level of glycaemia. Changes in the AC are stable and precede the manifestation of the functional and organic disorders inherent in this disease. This dependence allows for early T2D diagnostics and individual monitoring. Conclusion: The combination of the Akabane test with the use of mathematical analysis in patients with T2D makes it possible to trace the entire chain of carbohydrate metabolism at an individual level and to identify regulatory violation and the compensatory mechanisms for more effective therapeutic effects.

Background: Every living matter is characterized by rhythm in the basis of its existence and the laws of symmetry apply in it. System of acupuncture channels (АС) reflects the basic processes in the body, rhythm and symmetry are also peculiar to them, which through them can be estimated much more simply than, for example, based on biochemical or physiological parameters of the body.Methods: A patient with type 1 diabetes performed 43 Akabane tests at different times of the day for 18 days. With each test, she recorded blood sugar, insulin dose and assessed the effect on the body of various other factors in arbitrary units (from 1 to 10) with an assessment of their effect on the level of glycemia using regression and correlation analysis. The rhythmic activity of АС was also analyzed using Cosinor analysis.Results: It was found that the influence on the level of glycemia through certain AС is exerted by many external and internal factors. In routine monitoring of blood sugar, they cannot be foreseen, because blood glucose itself is the final product in a large chain of metabolic reactions that cannot be controlled in this way. The activity of certain AС reflects these influences and changes cyclically, which can be used to evaluate biorhythms. It was shown that a correctly selected medicine at an individual level restores symmetry in the body, which is broken at different levels from the effects of the disease. Conclusion:Using the regression analysis and the Cosinor method for assessing the contribution of AС to glycemia, it is shown that different AС have different phases, amplitudes and periods of biorhythms, therefore, due to their interference within the same regression model, sharp fluctuations glycemia are possible, which can be predicted in time. By assessing the asymmetry at the AС level in the body, it is also possible to carry out individual selection of drugs and their doses. which are often crucial for understanding the mechanisms of interaction in the body.
